What is an AI crawler?

The bot an AI company uses to read the web, like OpenAI's GPTBot or PerplexityBot. If your robots.txt blocks it, that engine may not be able to read or cite your pages.

Why does JavaScript matter?

Some AI crawlers read the raw HTML and do not run JavaScript. Text that only appears after scripts run may be invisible to them.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

It is optional. It can help AI assistants find your key pages, but no engine has said it relies on it. Selka marks it as nice to have, not a fix.

Does this replace my SEO tool?

No. Selka only checks what blocks AI. Keep your SEO tool for full audits if you use one.
